It was cold and blustery, but the artificial turf at Tumwater High School provided an excellent surface to play on.
Playing with the breeze in the first half Budd Bay got on the score sheet with a penalty, punishing the Quake for one of too high a number of infringements.
BB scored tries on 22 and 34 minutes, both of which were converted, for the only scores of the game.
The Quake came back strongly in the second half and had the lion's share of possession, but BB's defence held up well. Dropped passes from both teams caused disruption, and several scoring chances went awry through rushing. The Quake had two 5 meter line-outs which BB stole. No scores in the second half.
